Análise da produção em quintal agroflorestal em uma comunidade quilombola no município de Salgueiro/PE.

Abstract

The backyards are spaces around the houses, where vegetables, fruits, medicinal and ornamental plants, small and large animals are grown. It is in this environment that women recognize themselves as workers and acquire autonomy. In this sense, therefore, the objective of the work was to analyze the production of agroforestry backyards in a quilombola community, in the municipality of Salgueiro-PE. The research was carried out in the Quilombola Community of Conceição das Crioulas, in the municipality of Salgueiro-PE, in the period of November 2022. As analysis of the production, quality and commercialization of the products that are produced in the backyards. Thus, it was verified that most of the women interviewed have completed Higher Education, have an income of up to one minimum wage, have lived in the quilombo for more than five years, and have had their productive backyards for more than five years. Regarding production, all women have permanent, temporary, vegetable and fruit crops. The most produced vegetables are: Lactuca sativa L., Coriandrum sativum L., Cucurbita maxima L. and Solanum lycopersicum L. In relation to the fruit trees are produced: Carica papaya L., Malpighia emarginata D.C., Psidium guajava L. and Musa paradisiaca L. Regarding the importance of the backyards for the interviewees, all use the products from the backyards as a complement to family food, commercialization and reuse for other purposes. In this way, it was possible to observe that backyards play a fundamental role in the visibility of rural women, making them protagonists of their own stories as a worker/producer and source of income.
