Xenofobia contra o corpo-território de nordestinos em uma rede social.

Abstract

Twitter is one of the most used social networks today, however it has been a network used unlimitedly to propagate prejudice and violence. Given the 'freedom of expression' guaranteed to everyone, many feel they have the right to offend or denigrate someone because of some difference, be it physical, social or cultural, but many do not know the limits that this freedom should have, and even where is freedom. This analysis will be done through acts of xenophobia against the Northeastern territory, which is criticized and devalued for its identity in general. Therefore, the main objective of this work was to reflect on xenophobic violence against the body-territory of northeasterners. As for specific objectives, it begins by dealing with the notions of xenophobia and body-territory; then, address the construction of the Northeastern identity; and, finally, the speeches of subjects about xenophobia on a social network are discussed. To this end, this research will use digital ethnography, of a qualitative nature. To analyze the data, the content analysis technique will be used. In the end, it is observed that the power relations developed among internet users make the territory go beyond physical limits and reach the bodies of the subjects, highlighting a sociability based on violence that hierarchizes the lives of northeasterners as “inferior”.
