Mercado de trabalho em eventos: reflexões sobre relações trabalhistas e precarização.

Abstract

The general objective of the article is to analyze the events area of the Federal District - DF in terms of size, labor relations and precarious work with emphasis on the pandemic period (Covid-19). The study is justified by three points: 1 – Knowing the sector of events in the DF. 2 – Identify reports of the impacts of the pandemic on the economy of the DF, mainly on the events market and its workers. 3 – Discuss labor relations in the events sector in the Federal District. The identification of the lack of information on the subject in Brazil and the Federal District emphasized the relevance of this work, since according to the 2018 Sebrae study, the sector represented 4.3% of the GDP, generating 7.5 million direct and indirect jobs and yet, it is a timidly studied field. The research was divided into two parts: The first consisted of carrying out quantitative research, with analysis of secondary data from IBGE and DATASEBRAE (among others) to understand some relevant numbers about the events market. The second part, qualitative, through semi-structured interviews with professionals from the events sector in the Federal District. As a result of the research, it is noteworthy that, in the context of Covid-19, in the events sector there was an expansion in the number of companies and individual microentrepreneurs. There is a movement to encourage the opening of MEI (individual microentrepreneur) to replace the formal worker by hiring CNPJ, extending informality and precariousness in the sector, also causing low wages for subcontracting and limited rights to event workers.
