Abstract

The objective of this article is to evaluate the opening and closing movements of post pandemic small businesses in Paraíba, based on a documentary study in the period from 2018 to 2023. With this, we sought to understand the factors that drove the opening and closing of companies in Paraíba during the years 2018 to 2023, and understand the sectors that opened and closed the most according to a study with national data. For this article, an exploratory, descriptive, quantitative and documentary methodology was used. According to the results of this research, it is understood that Paraíba had its highest number of open companies in 2021, reaching 54,245 open companies, 12,817 more than in 2020, which was the peak of the pandemic, and its lowest number in company closure in the 6 years studied in this research, took place in 2020. Concluding that the state had its highest balance of active companies, in 2020 and 2021, with the sectors that opened the most, with the retail trade sector standing out. of clothing and accessories and sales promotion.
