| ???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: | O objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar as correlações genéticas entre a idade ao primeiro parto (IPP) e os parâmetros A (peso assintótico) e k (taxa de maturação) do modelo de Von Bertalanffy e o peso adulto (PAD) de fêmeas da raça Canchim. Utilizaram-se as informações do rebanho bovino da raça Canchim, pertencente à Embrapa Pecuária Sudeste, São Carlos, SP. Foram estimados os componentes de (co)variância pelo método da máxima verossimilhança restrita, em análises bivariadas de IPP com A, k e PAD, utilizando-se um modelo animal com o efeito genético aditivo direto (aleatório) e os efeitos fixos de ano e época de nascimento para IPP, A e k e ano e época do parto e idade da vaca ao parto para PAD. As herdabilidades estimadas foram 0,27 (A), 0,37 (k), 0,48 (PAD) e 0,03 (IPP). As correlações genéticas entre IPP e A (0,16), k (-0,75) e PAD (0,25) sugerem que a seleção de fêmeas com maior taxa de maturação e menor peso assintótico levaria à diminuição da IPP, podendo, assim, melhorar os índices de produtividade dos rebanhos da raça Canchim. |
| Abstract: | The objective of this study was to estimate genetic correlations between age at first calving (AFC) and parameters A (asymptotic weight) and k (maturation rate) of Von Bertalanffy’s model and mature weight (MW) of females of the Canchim beef cattle breed. (Co)variance components were estimated by the restricted maximum likelihood method, in two-trait analyses of AFC with A, k and MW, using an animal model with additive direct and residual random effects and the fixed effects of year and season of birth for AFC, A and k, and year and season of calving for MW. The heritability estimates were 0.27 (A), 0.37 (k), 0.48 (MW) and 0.03 (FAC). The genetic correlations between AFC and A (0.16), k (-0.75) and MW (0.25) show that selection for higher maturation rate and small asymptotic weight would decrease AFC and, then, improve productivity of Canchim herds. |
