Juventude e mercado de trabalho: análise das competências e habilidades de estudantes concluintes do ensino médio.

Abstract

Bearing in mind the importance of identifying the condition of young people completing high school for their insertion in the labor market, research was carried out on young people who participated in an extension project whose main activity is to offer a training course for the professional initiation of young people high school graduates in the city of Queimadas - PB, in order to understand to what extent the course participants are suited to the skills and competences presented during the course and required for insertion in the job market. Therefore, it was necessary to describe the contents presented during the course and their respective resources, analyze the tests and evaluations carried out to assess the condition of the participants and verify gaps in the students' skills and competences in relation to what is demanded by the companies. A descriptive qualitative research was then carried out with extensive use of the documents prepared by the members of the extension project and the tests answered by the students of the course during the year 2022. In view of this, it appears that the students have gaps in relation to the skills and competences, but the contents presented contribute to the knowledge of the organizational and work reality and that self-knowledge was essential for identifying gaps, identifying that planning, time management, emotional intelligence and problem solving still need to be worked on between young high school graduates who participated in the course.
