dc.description.resumoO problema de incrementar a eficácia da conversão da potência no motor em potência na barra, ultimamente vem-se tornando de importância cada vez maior, em face de dois fatores principais: a) a atual crise do suprimento de combustíveis derivados do petróleo e b) a tendência no aumento da potência dos motores dos tratores, em face dos avanços tecnológicos, que se verificam na moderna agricultura empresarial. A tração de 4 rodas tem sido uma das soluções que vem sendo, cada vez mais, adotadas no mundo todo. No Brasil, ate presentemente, nenhum trabalho foi realizado visando avaliar o comportamento comprativo de tração em 2 e 4 rodas, sob condições típicas de nossos solos. Procurou-se, neste trabalho, efetuar essa avaliação, em solo Podzólico Vermelho Amarelo, variação Laras, de significativa distribuição nas áreas cultivadas do Estado de São Paulo. Nos ensaios de campo, empregou-se um trator de 136 cv na TDP, equipa do com 2 eixos motrizes. Foram realizadas 2 séries de ensaios; a primeira com tração em ambos os eixos e a segunda, com tração apenas no eixo traseiro. Os resultados obtidos indicam uma significativa vantagem para a tração em 4 rodas.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractThe problem transmitting the high engine power to the tractor drawbar has been of increasingly importance, mainly be cause two factors: a) the present crisis of supplying fuel deri vative from petroleum, and b) the trend to increase the engine advance of the modem enterprise agriculture. The four-wheel - drive tractor has been the mo st employed overall the world. In Brasil, until presently, no work was carried out with the objec tive of evaluating the comparative performance of two and four wheel drive tractors, under out typical soil conditions. In this study, one tried to carry out that evaluation in Red-Iellow prodzolic soil, Laras variation, significantly overs pread in the cultivated areas of the State of São Paulo. In fZ eld trials, a four-wheel drive tractor of 136 hp. at PTO was em ployed. Two test trials were carried out: the first with the tra ction in both axles and the second, with the traction in the re ar axle. The results obtained show a significant advantage for the four-wheel drive tractor.pt_BR
