Nível de acessibilidade dos sites da UFCG: recomendação de boas práticas e análise com o Google Lighthouse.

Abstract

There are several barriers to be encountered and solved on electronic websites that mainly affect people with disabilities. When using the Web and its resources, people with disabilities or limitations face obstacles that make it difficult, and often impossible, to access web pages. The concept of Digital Accessibility assumes that websites and portals are designed in a way that allows all individuals to perceive, understand, and interact effectively with electronic sites. The Brazilian Federal Government has been investing in online services and information distribution, and currently, there is a considerable number of official websites of the Federal Government with services and information that can be accessed through tools and documents that assist and guide professionals in the construction, adaptation, evaluation, and correction of pages, websites, and services, thus ensuring navigation control and full access, regardless of their physical, motor, perceptual, cultural, and social capabilities. Based on this proposal, there was a need to verify the accessibility of the official websites of the Federal University of Campina Grande. For this purpose, a study will be conducted on the concepts of accessibility, in order to provide suggestions for best practices in including accessibility tools, as well as recommendations for making these sites accessible. The analysis will be carried out based on the use of an existing accessibility measurement tool, Google Lighthouse – na open-source automated tool for measuring the quality of web pages, which audits the performance, accessibility, and search engine optimization of web pages.
