A intertextualidade em Macunaíma: do romance ao cordel.

Abstract

Under the prism of intertextuality, this study proposes a comparative analysis between two Brazilian literary works: Macunaíma: o herói sem nenhum caráter, 2019, by Mário de Andrade, and Macunaíma em Cordel, 2018, by Stélio Torquato. Intertextuality is approached as the concept that describes the relationships between texts, where one text makes references, citations, or establishes a dialogue with other texts, playing an important role in creating meanings and enriching the reading experience. In this study, occurrences of intertextuality in both works were identified and discussed, highlighting explicit and implicit intertextuality as well as typological intertextuality. The results revealed that both works present examples of explicit and implicit intertextuality, establishing significant connections between works from different traditions and epochs, contributing to the cultural and artistic diversity of Brazilian literature. Intertextuality emerges as a powerful tool for artistic creation and understanding the literary identity of Brazil, fostering a dialogue between authors and readers and enriching the national literary repertoire. This work sheds light on the relevance of studying intertextuality and its capacity to expand interpretations and meanings of literary works.
