Educação e sociedade: lições pedagógicas de Maria Lacerda de Moura (1887-1945).

Abstract

I present in this work breaf considerations of the political and intelectual thoughts of Maria Lacerda de Moura (1887- 1945). Borned in Minas Gerais, she was a teacher, writer and militant from the labour movement. Her thoughts were analyzed from primary and secondary sources. From the variety of published works by the author, the chosen one for the appreciation was “Lições de Pedagogia” (1925), for been the most important to the educational extent. The author took part in a period of political, social and economic unrest conditions in Brazil. Her reflections insert in a multidisciplinary field in which cross many fields of knowledge in an attempt to explain social issues. Among a variety of knowledge the author speaks of education from sociology, anthropology, philosophy, anatomy, biology, geography, politics, and so forth. That "unknown" writer helps us to understand in another point of view, aspects of an age and a society that prepared future generations. To analyze her thoughts about education was important to make us reflect about current issues. Theme related to the educator, student, family and society, are discussed by her, within a relational field, which has an intrinsic relationship with the formation of the individual. To search the thought of Maria Lacerda de Moura was challenging and at the same time it was exciting, in regard to the contribution of a sociological treaty for discussions about education.
