Abstract

That work objectified the elaboration of the shart of land use capability of the Municipal district of Pratânia - SP, seeking the adapted planning of the occupation of the soil, used of System Geographical Information (GIS). The basin locates among the geographical coordinates 22o 44' 48" and 22o 52' 17" of latitudes S and the meridians 48o 38' 21" and 48o 48' 07" of longitudes W Gr., presenting an area of 21773,61ha. The map of land use capability of the municipal district was elaborated starting from the maps of decline and soil classes, being taken by base the characteristics of each one and being used of the table of judgement of use capability classes. The areas of the class and subclasses of land use capability determined by GIS -IDRISI were: IIIS (5,33%); IIIe,s (33,66%); IVe (8,56%); VIe (2,39%) and VIIe (0,06%). The results allowed to infer that the most significant subclass went to IIIs. The GIS was shown an excellent tool for determination of the land use capability, demonstrating that the use of the geoprocessamento facilitates and it activates the crossing of the digital data, allowing its storage, that you/they can be used for another analyses in future plannings geoambience.
