| ???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: | É intenção nossa, neste trabalho, buscar compreender as tramas e as articulações políticas que os representantes do Ceará utilizavam para conseguir angariar verbas junto ao governo central a fim de realizar obras nessa Província/Estado, em especial, para a construção de ferrovias. Descreveremos, aqui, que essas interferências político-particulares foram responsáveis pelo aparecimento de uma malha ferroviária que é marcadamente irracional sobre todos os aspectos. Demonstraremos como Fortaleza, a sua capital, consegue força política e econômica para determinar de onde vai partir a primeira ferrovia do Ceará e para onde irá. Examinaremos também os impactos econômicos e culturais da chegada da ferrovia em um município do interior do Ceará. |
| Abstract: | It is our intention, in this work, to understand the plots and political articulations that the representatives of Ceará used to obtain funds from the central government in order to carry out works in this Province/State, especially for the construction of railroads. We will describe here that these political-private interferences were responsible for the emergence of a railway system that is markedly irrational on all sides. We will demonstrate how Fortaleza, its capital, obtains political and economic strength to determine where Ceará's first railroad will depart and where it will go. We will also examine the economic and cultural impacts of the arrival of the railroad in a municipality in the interior of Ceará. |
