A representação do negro no livro didático: uma abordagem das relações étnico-raciais.

Abstract

The present work has as its theme "A REPRESENTATION OF THE NEGRO IN TEXTBOOK: AN APPROACH OF ETHNIC-RACIAL RELATIONS", which aimed to examine whether the textbooks and history teaching English language in the early years of elementary school, the network municipal education in Cajazeiras / PB are addressing the issue of ethnic and racial diversity and how this approach is contributing to the education of the student with the implementation of Law No. 10,639 / 03, establishing the compulsory teaching of African history and culture and african-Brazilian in the curriculum of primary and secondary teaching, thus changing the Law of Directives and Bases of Education No. 9394/96. This research is bibliographical, which sought to describe and analyze the textbooks from 1st to 5th grade of elementary school, with a qualitative approach, delimiting the disciplines of Portuguese Language and History. The survey showed that there was a significant transformation in the way these textbooks, specifically those used in the analysis are addressing the issue of image and ethnic-racial relations, such a change is relevant to Brazilian education, since we live in a country that is the world's second largest number of blacks. But still realize the need for a more concrete transformation that will cater for the fact that prays Law No. 10,639 / 03, thus enabling the elimination of discrimination in respect of the black population in textbooks that often, because it represents the black negatively compared to white or simply not to represent him, thus helping the student will understand the ethnic and racial differences as negative aspects in our society and thus deny their ethnic identity rather than value and recognize the importance of history and culture of African origin in the formation of Brazilian society in all aspects of its construction.
