Estrategias de enriquecimento do Umbuzeiro (Spondias tuberosa Arruda Cam.) em áreas de caatinga no semiarido paraibano.

Abstract

The work aimed analyze the ecological aspects in the Umbuzeiro (Spondias tuberosa Arruda Cam.) in areas of Caatinga in the paraibano Semiarid. The areas selected for the study they were: (1) stream of Umburana - remainder with a significant conservation degree; (2) Reserved Experimental Area for Studies of Ecology and Dynamics of the Caatinga of the Laboratory of Ecology and Botany - LAEB/CDSA/UFCG - area selected as pilot for the enrichment strategies. The work involved study in the structure, accompaniment of the dynamics of the regeneration, formation of the bank of seeds and evaluation of the rates of survival of the umbuzeiro. For the stream of Umburana, in the study phytosociological, the umbuzeiro (S. tuberosa) obtained a low density with just an individual and basal area of 0.060 m2.ha-l. Related to the Value of Importance and Value of Covering the umbuzeiro didn't also obtain prominence in the community. In the rising of the bank of seeds this was represented by 105 species, however, of that total any individual of the Umbuzeiro didn't germinate. This species was not also registered in the inventory of the bank ofyoung. In the reserved area for the enrichment that of the 70 individuals' total, they died 61 what it represents 87% of mortality. Therefore, the data present a significant contribution concerning the knowledge that involve the ecology of the Umbuzeiro.
