Abstract

Before the Brazilian social problems it is necessary that the organizations create forms of identifying the social deviations that surround them, their causes and alternatives of lessening the problem. The social insecurity in matter can represent a serious difficulty to the development of the businesses, could commit the acting of the companies, specifically in the small businesses. In general lines, it is looked for with this work to identify to what extent the occurrences of assaults and thefts in the small businesses, located in the neighborhoods of Campina Grande they affect the operation of the small businesses of this city. The companies have a long time invest in safety, acquiring sophisticated technologies of protection returned to the personal and patrimonial safety. The general objective the one that that research proposes is been to investigate as the occurrence of assaults and thefts affects the operation of the small located businesses in the neighborhoods of Campina Grande - PB. For that, intends to research the frequency of the occurrences related to assaults in those companies, to identify the protection mechanisms to the patrimony of the companies, as well as to analyze the costs related to the safety of the patrimony and to show as the concern with the safety affects the acting and the entrepreneurs' decisions. The research is defined as being explanatory, relating the occurrence of assaults and thefts against the companies, and as for the investigation means, it is treated of a field research accomplished at the place where happens the phenomenon and that it has the elements to explain. The people that will supply the necessary data to the research will be the proprietors or responsible for the companies reached by the sample and the data will be collected through semi-structured form and treaties in a qualitative and quantitative way. The research identified difficulties to the expansion of the activities, such as increase of the costs and difficulties imposed to the administration of the business. It was ended that the research was accomplished with success and for which was noticed that the companies in study go by serious consequences with the significant increase in the costs of those businesses and restrictions in the perspectives of growth of the same ones, in face of the increase of the criminality, factor that comes as one of the ones that form the atmosphere of performance of the companies.
