A timidez na concepção de professores dos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental.

Abstract

The present study deals with a conclusion course, which has the object of study shyness in the school environment, whose objective was to analyze the conceptions of teachers, the initial years of elementary school, about shyness and with the specific objective of identifying which methodologies used by these teachers can contribute with the students in overcoming their shyness. It is, therefore, a field research carried out with 04 teachers from a municipal school in the city of Cajazeiras / PB. It has a qualitative and exploratory approach. Data collection was done through the semi-structured interview and analyzed through the technique of content analysis (BA) (BAUER, 2002). This research allowed to verify that the teachers recognize the shyness and consequently, its shy students, from the characteristics like fear, the shame and the nervousness; yet, they attribute shyness more disadvantages than advantages. The data also demonstrate that respondents recognize shyness as a condition that can be overcome, and are concerned to help their shy students overcome it, although not all of them know which methodology to use to succeed. Thus, we conclude by recognizing the need for this theme to gain spaces in the formation of teachers (academic or continuing) so that they can contribute with their shy students in the perspective of knowing how to deal with or overcome shyness.
