O Karatê como prática formativa: da narrativa autobiográfica aos sujeitos da escola.

Abstract

This research aims to reflect on the formative dimension of karate, taking as reference the experiences of this practice outside and within the school. To do so, I analyzed the influence of Karate in human formation, especially in the child’s development in the field of early childhood education and I observed the formative dimensions of karate in addition to school education from the autobiographical resource. Regarding the practice of karate in school, the question arose as to how this practice contributes to human formation, especially the formation of children in early childhood education. This study was based on a bibliographical research of a descriptive character with the aid of articles, books, complemented by field research in a qualitative approach, in order to meet the objectives defined in this study. Concerning the data collection, it was carried out from a questionnaire, with the parents of three students, three teachers and the school director, such school is located in the city of Sousa-PB. I concluded that karate is a practice that contributes to human development, as it provides discipline and respect. Thus, the practice of this sport favors the development of those who practice it, both outside and inside the school, and, in the case of this study, the formation of children in early childhood education. And as a contribution, many of the parents, as well as the teachers and director, report the importance of the practice of karate for the children of Early Childhood education.
