Preconceito e discriminação étnico-racial concebido pelas professoras da educação infantil da cidade de Marizópolis - PB.

Abstract

The present work had as its general objective: To apprehend and analyze the conceptions about prejudice and ethnic-racial discrimination, constructed by the teachers of Early Childhood Education of the city of Marizópolis - PB and specific: to verify the possible strategies used by the teachers of the Infantile Education before an action Of prejudice and ethnic-racial discrimination, to investigate the insertion of possible pedagogical practices used by the teachers of the Child Education to work with the ethnic-racial question. The theoretical studies were based on the discussion of public policies for Early Childhood Education and Ethnic-racial Education. Five female teachers from the School of Marizópolis - PB participated in the study. As a methodological tool, we used a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Free Word Association Test (TALP) and a semi-structured interview. The results obtained suggest that for the teachers, prejudice and discrimination are identified in the ethical, aesthetic, affective and cognitive dimensions; With a greater emphasis on the ethical dimension, in which it shows that teachers conceive prejudice and discrimination as an act committed by the other. The results of the interviews indicate that they need training in ethnic-racial education to improve pedagogical practice and to provide quality child education.
