Emulsões contendo óleo de pequi na área cosmética: uma revisão bibliográfica.

Abstract

The developed work is an exploratory literature review about Pequi oil and its main applications in cosmetic emulsions. Realized a literature search in the databases SciELO, Medline, Capes Journals Portal, Brazilian Pharmacopeia, Technical Regulation and ANVISA Public Consultation, scientific articles published in magazines available on the internet and other specialized materials. Afterward reading the data were collected relevant information and interests that compose the present study. For data collection was used a sequence as suggested in the specific objectives. This study aimed to compile information about pequi and its main applications in the pharmaceutical industry, gather various information about the pequi their abundance and location, gather information about the pequi oil and its composition and provide data on pequi oil applications in cosmetic emulsions. The Pequi oil has several indications in popular medicine. Apart from being considered a good tonic it is indicated for treatment of colds, flu and manifestations related to vitamin A deficiency. Pequi is demonstrably rich in vitamin A, and this is essential in the formation and maintenance of epithelial tissue. It is also rich in vitamin C carotenoids, and the β-carotene, the predominant carotenoid in the fruit pulp. There are still many fatty acids such as palmitic, oleic, myristic, palmitoleic, stearic, linoleic and linolenic. This oil composition values the search and utilizing the pequi oil in cosmetic emulsions because this dosage form presents advantages such as the possibility of optimizing the bioavailability possibility of targeting agents and good biocompatibility with the human skin. Several problems are encountered in implementing the techniques of obtaining the oil, and these can interfere with its composition, devaluing the final product. However the great benefits provided by the oil constituents joined with the pharmaceutical form benefits that value the use of the oil from pequi in emulsions with different purpose among them cosmetics.
