Abstract

This work was done with the objective of analyzing the factors contributing to the electoral success of rulers who pleaded the consecutive re-election in the municipalities of Paraíba in the claim of 2016. Data such as schooling, support to the state Government, tax management and Municipal development served as a basis for analysis. Using the descriptive statistical methodology to measure the data. The results achieved indicate that a large part of the mayors indicates the policy as being their profession, mayors that support the governor of the state of Paraíba are potentially led to electoral dispute by reelection, most municipalities of great Population size presents low averages in terms of tax management, all the municipalities analyzed have regular and moderate development regardless of whether they have reached re-election or not. It can be said that in the process of reelection the variables of support to the governor, of tax management and Municipal development meddle in the process of reelection, but are not determinant for the end result.
