As concepções dos professores de educação infantil sobre sexualidade.

Abstract

Sexuality is a comprehensive theme which influences actions and thoughts, it also influences the way you dress and how we act and react to other people in social life. The sexuality is present in life from the moment of fertilization and undergoes numerous changes throughout life. Sexuality is innate, however, it manifests itself in different ways in different social groups and sometimes even within the same social group. The paradigm that underpins this work is the conception that sexuality is socially constructed. The objective of this research was to analyze the conception of teachers of early childhood education on the theme of sexuality. The research was guided by the qualitative approach, whose strategy was based on a semi-structured interview, containing 15 questions, allowing for a conversation face to face between the interviewer and the interviewed. The study is also characterized as a field research, in the period of June 2016, involving 05 teachers of early childhood education in the city of Santa Helena- PB. The results showed that the sexuality concepts of these teachers are punctual, by focusing on very specific aspects of this theme. The concept of gender was focused on as a result of a social construction; however, these teachers said they did not feel prepared to approach the subject in the classroom. The representation of male and female characteristics is polarized in four of the interviewees. The girl is described as being more sensitive and the boy as more active. The interviewees reported a lack of information and that they felt not prepared to work with the theme in the classroom.
