História e literatura: uma análise da representação do sertão, do sertanejo e do cangaço na obra Carcará.

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the representations of Sertão, sertanejo and cangaço through the analysis of the literary work Carcará that I covered in his narrative, the period of the cangaço cycle in northeastern Brazil. Throughout the work we discuss the interface of relationship between History and Literature showing how from the emergence of the New History Cultural literature has become a new source of research for many historians. Thus, we present discussions about the representations that the literary work in question puts us about the city of Cajazeiras –PB, about their public personalities, about facts that are part of local historiography and about sociocultural elements characteristic of the sertanejo people and the northeastern sertão, among them the phenomenon of cangaço.
