Planejamento familiar e psicoativos: perfil e conhecimento dos alunos da EJA em Cuité - PB.

Abstract

Young people are starting their sexual experiences and the consumption of psychoactive substances at an earlier age, Young people are starting sexual experiences and the consumption of psychoactive substances at an earlier age. What may have negative consequences and a higher exposure to hazards linked to unprotected sexual activity, such as STDs or unplanned pregnancy. Thus, the purpose of this survey was to characterize the profile and pre-existing knowledge of the students who attend the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) about the family planning and risk factors associated to neglect in condom use and drug abuse. To this end, questionnaires were given in four classes of an institution that serves a larger number of students enrolled in the "EJA" mode in town. After analyzing the data, readings and discussion groups were developed. Later, it was observed that from 96 students enrolled, 67.7% were women and 32.3% men, aged between 17 and 40 years. It was found that in this total, 89.6% said they have had experiences with sexual act, and their first intercourse occurred between the age group of 12 to 21 years. Given the knowledge about the importance of sex with condom use, 61.4% reported making use of barrier contraceptives during intercourse. Regarding the use of psychoactive substances, 39.5% of students reported having used some kind of drug. According to the obtained data, the profile of "EJA" students is represented mostly by women. These same students showed knowledge about the use of contraceptives and STDs, as well as notions about the risk factors associated to neglect in condom use and drug abuse, however, nearly 40% reported use of these last mentioned.
