A ambição em Lady Macbeth: um percurso persuasivo de poder e desequilíbrio.

Abstract

Ambition, power and guilt, the characterization of Lady Macbeth, the tragedy of William Shakespeare, Macbeth, is configured from these three elements. The plot begins with the appearance of three witches, female figures, who utter an oracle, and this prophecy instigates Lady Macbeth, at the first in turn uses arguments and persuasion to convince her husband to make the oracle materialize faster. Lady Macbeth is configured averse to the female figure of the seventeenth to century. The character is not built only as a passive being, very common in the context in which the plot was written. It is she, who articulates, plans and encourages King Duncan's murder, in search of the Scottish crown, and her ambition make her a character with masculine traits. However, Shakespeare, builds lady, initially, as being strong and cruel, but the reconnecting with the female passivity of time make for decline at the end of the rest. The character goes mad with guilt and commits suicide, showing that there is still a psychological westerns elaborated by Shakespeare in woman's construction on this plot. This assignment aims to analyze the construction of the character and its importance for the development of the whole plot.
