Antonio Mariz: o mito político na Paraíba (1990-1995).

Abstract

Brazil of the 1990s was marked by several changes in its political scope, both in national and state territory as in municipal territory. One of them changes was the process of redemocratization of the country that occurred in 1989 with the end of military dictatorship and the return of direct elections. The present work aims to investigate the representations about the political trajectory of Antonio Mariz in this historical context, problematizing the implications on political and sociocultural relations and the transformation of his figure in a kind of myth in Paraíba politics and, more specifically, in the sousense politics between 1990 and 1995. The study will be conducted through sources of works by regional authors portraying the history and Mariz's trajectory. We will consider your biography, your acting as a politician, public administrator and the repercussions of his public life on the various speeches analyzed.
