Abstract

This research has the aim to investigate the cheap pamphlets reception, which pass through the humor bias, among children and young people who live in Cidades block, Campina Grande, PB. To such experience we used some theoretical design of aesthetic of reception, formulated by Jauss (1979) and Ives (1979), besides Chartier (1999) reflections about readers community. We were worked with these pamphlets: Viagem a Sao Sarue, O casamento da Raposa com o Timbu, and A chegada de Lampiao ao inferno. In a general way, the achievement of this work made possible to us to look the good cheap pamphlets reception among readers of disfavored social class. We noticed that cheap pamphlets are still enchanting readers, dragging them to the beauty and strengh of its lines, mainly the ones who are in their school ages. We ascertain that literature was understood as a leisure activity and entertainment by this readers community. So according to Candido (2004), it is a universal need for each man, each woman and must be considered as the way to avoid "the spiritual mutilation". This work certifies, among other things, that a methodology ruled by dialogue allows a better interaction between text and reader and that, many times, the educator/researcher shows difficulties in dealing with dialectical methods, needing thus to review his/her practices. In this sense, we believe this work contributed to our professional and personal improving.
