Estudo sobre a vulnerabilidade de mulheres em união estável ao HIV / AIDS.

Abstract

The Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a decease that still represents a major challenge to health worldwide reaching vulnerable populations and becoming a social psychological problem for patients who are victims of discrimination and stigma that has been released about them. The aim of this study was to investigate the vulnerability of women in stable relationship to HIV/ AIDS in Cajazeiras – PB; to know the aspects to the vulnerability of this population on programmatic, individual and social dimensions and identify perceptions of them about prevention and transmission of HIV/ AIDS. To achieve this aims we opted for an exploratory qualitative research, involving ten women in stable relationship chosen by simple random, by raffles on medical charts. It was used a structured interview; the responses were recorded then to be transcribed and analyzed using the technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin. The results showed that their knowledge can be considered superficial and almost always acquired through the media, since the ideas are mainly linked to the use of condoms as a method of prevention. In this context, it is emphasized the role of health professionals, particularly nursing staff, in carrying out educational work with women through the provision of information to assist in giving visibility to factors that increase the vulnerability in marital union AIDS.
