Condições de trabalho dos enfermeiros de um Centro Cirúrgico sob a ótica de ergonomia.

Abstract

The Surgical Center (SC) is seen as a complex area and of restrict access belonging to a health center, where a multi-professional team acts, of which nursing is part of since the first surgical interventions. Disposing of equipments and materials of appropriate consumption, the nursing team presents subsidies to render an assistance of better quality with greater agility to the client in the perioperatory period, thus, the work conditions are seen by ergonomics as a set of correlated factors, which act either in a direct or indirect way in the life quality of the individuals, as well as in the results of the work performed by them. In this context the present study aims to investigate the work conditions of the nurses of a SC under the optic of ergonomics; to identify the characteristics of the work ambient of the SC nurses; to investigate the relation between the ambient and the work developed by nurses of the SC. It is a descriptive study, with quantitative-qualitative approach. With a sample composed by 06 nurses who work in the Surgical Center of the Regional Hospital of Cajazeiras – PB. The data has been collected through a questionnaire composed by objective and subjective questions. And, during all the research, the presupposes of the resolution 196/96 have been respected. The results have pointed out that the research subjects are between 25 and 30 years old, mostly from the female sex, only 34% have post-graduation courses in the area they act, most of them work from 20 to 40 hours weekly, all of them act for few years in the sector, only 16% have received training before initiating their activities. It has been verified that 50% of the interviewed ones have some health problem related to the professional exercise. Regarding the level of satisfaction with the job, most of them have said to feel satisfied, however they demonstrate dissatisfaction in relation to the work conditions offered. And, concerning the work ambient and the ambient space, they have been considered inadequate for all of the research participants. With suggestion to the improvement of the work process, the nurses have indicated the adaptation of the physical structure and the implementation of continued education as primordial points. With that, it may be considered that for the improvement of the work conditions of the professionals of this sector it is necessary the planning and a new physical structure, as well as a total reform of the sector. Besides, the implantation of a policy concerned with the continued education will certainly contribute for the sharpening and improvement of life quality in the work of professionals who act in it.
