Resumo:
In Brazil, millions of families are excluded from access to decent housing.. In the city of
Campina Grande-PB that social reality is not unlike the housing needs analysis reveals that
the most significant in quantitative terms are provision of new housing units with a demand of
16,593 units. According to Cohen (2004) housing would be essential and space vehicle
construction and development of family health. The assessment of the level of health in
housing projects enables to deepen the knowledge of user requirements for the use and
maintenance of the spaces of Social Interest Housing. In low-income communities that, are
naturally risk populations, to environmental health problems in the built space have
exacerbated its effects. Thus this paper aims to assess the level of Environmental Health in
multifamily buildings of social interest (HIS) in the city of Campina Grande-PB as a
contribution to a plan for assessing the environmental sanitation of buildings of social interest.
To review were considered in the model variables Booking and water quality, disposal of
sewage, solid waste management, indoor air, natural light interior, internal space, the general
conditions of the building, in an expression that allows to reach a measurement model the
level of healthiness. Data collection was done by conducting home visits with technical focus,
based on the quantitative variable for each of the proposed model. From a sequence of
actions, the check list was composed of the building so that for each variable, qualitative or
quantitative, were characterized and predicted spot. Sample of 40 housing units, 36 were
classified in class B (average health), corresponding to 90% of the total, only 4 housing units
fall in the class C (low health), corresponding to 10% of the total. No housing unit was
framed in classes A (Wholesome) and D (Unhealthy). The worst results were for variables
Reservation and water quality, indoor air and building conditions. The NSE served as a
practical method to evaluate the post-occupation regarding aspects of housing quality
necessary to promote the health of low-income housing project Araxa. To solve the housing
problems of any building requires a study of all aspects that can lead to unhealthy wearer,
being a multidisciplinary study, the best way to go is the indexing of this information, which
will serve as a tool for public officials to become aware of the situation, to develop public
health actions to adapt these dwellings.
