Resumo:
The Brazil of the 80s was going through a transition from an authoritarian regime to a
democracy, in the same period of José Brito Brother launches his candidacy for mayor in the
small town of Bom Jesus PB, being elected in 1982, The present study aims to investigate his
political trajectory and analyze the impact of his administration in the town of Bom Jesus -
PB. We analyze this information in documents, statements and bibliographical survey of local
authors, to support research, for reasons of work as we dialogue with authors; Jacques Le
Goff, François Dosse, Pierre Archard, Paul Thompson and Lucilia AN Delgado. Besides these
writers on political history as; Boris Fausto, B. Son Luciano and José Octavio A. Mello. The
research will be based on interviews making use of oral history, and literature by local authors
that depict the life of José de Brito Brother to examples of newspapers, magazines and books
written about the city.
