Résumé:
This Course Conclusion Work establishes an initial discussion about the methodological
approach the Cartography applied in the Geography of the High School. We assume that the
Cartography is a facilitator methodological of teaching processes and learning of Geography,
which developed from the principles of "cartographic literacy”. These principles ensure
geographic learning in school, since, along this work, we indicate that the Cartography been
present in different civilizations, based on the inherent processes of representation of space
over time. In view of the understanding of how this dynamic proceeds in the school
environment, specifically with respect to the use teacher makes of this methodology, we
developed a research with High School teachers in the “Colégio Estadual do Ensino
Fundamental e Médio Monsenhor Constantino Vieira”. From the data collected, based on the
application of questionnaires and the theoretical discussions, we present, in this text, some
reflections that allow us to reflect about the importance of Cartography in high school and the
necessity to rethink the processes of teachers training.
