Resumo:
This paper addresses the iconographic collection present in the pages of the textbook
“Projeto ARARIBÁ - História”, of the 9th grade of elementary school, used in the
Elementary School Dr. Jarismar Gonçalves Melo, emphasizing how it is used in the
classroom, either by students or teachers. We seek to question the uses given by the
abovementioned school to the iconography contained in the pages of the history
textbook used. We seek to understand the concepts of iconography and textbook;
analyze the physical structure and the methodological use used by the educational
institution; as well as to understand the perception of students and teachers of these
images. Therefore we use as a methodological tool questionnaires asking questions
about the use of iconography in the classroom by teachers and students.
