Resumo:
The present work consists of a research carried out at Escola Municipal Ensino
Fundamental Antônio Meira de Sá, Aparecida-bp. Its general objective is: To analyze which
are the realities and challenges found in geography teaching discussing the main
concepts and categories represented by the discipline considering its breadth and verifying
the teaching method learning. The research was developed from the following
methodologies: It is of bibliographic nature, because it used the research in books, articles, journals
and other internet materials; It presents itself as theoretical and empirical. It involves theory and
practice; As for its nature it is classified as qualitative and quantitative and is presented
as a case study since it has a specific area for conducting the research.
Firstly, a bibliographic survey on the theme was made, starting with a
historical perspective on geographical science until it reaches the definition of its object of study
geographical space, then some considerations were made about the teaching of geography in the
contemporaneity and the importance of geographical categories for teaching. By
Analysis of the data showed that there are many challenges encountered in the classroom.
During the class, it was also verified that the geographical categories are well worked by the teacher,
However, the school does not have efficient teaching resources that can assist in the process of
I teach learning. Thus, the most used resource is the textbook, however, the
teacher presents clarity in the presentation of concepts and the development of a class
very dynamic, always maintaining the teacher-student relationship and their participation,
respecting the knowledge they have already built.
