Resumo:
In this research monograph entitled, Learning Disabilities Reading and Writing in the Early Years. We
sought to analyze the learning difficulties of students in fourth and fifth years, the acquisition of
reading and writing, as well as investigate the teachers, subjects of research in order to know how they
deal with the difficulties of the students in these practices, as well as know the methodology used by
them to meet the needs of the students in this regard. The locus of the investigation was the Municipal
School of Antonia Maria Costa, Vieirópolis / PB. The methodology used was descriptive qualitative
research and field research. As regards the instruments made use for data collection were observation
and interview. How willing collaborators in this research, two teachers working in the school
mentioned. Regarding the results, the survey revealed that students have difficulties in acquiring these
practices, in two classes, which, among other factors, is the lack of family involvement in the
educational process of the students. It was also observed that the teachers have conceptions of reading
conducive to the construction and reconstruction of knowledge. Even the teachers having used several
methodological resources in their classes, were not sufficient to engage and promote the acquisition of
skills of reading and writing by students repeating. In summary, it is necessary for reading early part
of the school life of the student, and the practice of such fundamental importance to the training and
development of human beings.
