Abstract:
In this monograph titled: Practice of Reading in the School Context years Initials: know the reality to
weave reflections, identify which was the conception about the relevance of teaching reading in the
school, as well as knowing as was the practice of two teachers in their classrooms with reading and
finally verify the methodology used by them classroom. Regarding methodology, this study is
qualitative and descriptive in nature. The instruments used for data collection were observation and
interview answered by two teachers from elementary school State Elementary Education Celso
Joaquim Matos, the city of Cajazeiras - PB. Regarding the results, the investigation revealed that
educators recognize the importance that reading has on people's lives, an aspect that makes it
absolutely essential for the construction of student knowledge. The research also explained that the
lack of attention of the students, such as the lack of monitoring of family, preclude the teaching
pedagogical action regarding student performance in reading and writing. Finally, I point out the lack
of adequate teacher training in the area, even if the teachers use various procedures and instruments
diversified didactic teaching in their practice, in order to make the dynamics of teaching reading in the
classroom, the next day students, so they can read the world through their own narratives.
