Literatura e cinema no ensino de geografia: tradição e violência no sertão- rupturas e continuidades.

Abstract

This course conclusion work presents research results on the use of film and literature in teaching geography, from an interdisciplinary approach as envisaged in the literary work Revenge, No! and of film Behind the Sun works, which deal about the tradition and violence in the Wilderness, about ruptures and continuities. For the understanding of this issue developed literature and documentary of filmic and literary works at 2014.2 period. Elected as a general objective to analyze these works, which deal with the violence and tradition in the Hinterland, ruptures and continuities in the practices of its subjects, and the importance of such works as languages to be used in geography teaching. We reflect on geography teaching, film language and literature as important languages for the construction of knowledge through the concept of articulated space with the reality of the students, in addition to making an analogy of the film with the regional literary work. Discussed symbolism, violence and tradition in the hinterlands, with land conflicts and disputes between families driven by feelings of revenge and power relations. Analyzed yet, the meanings of Hinterland from the book Os Sertões, Euclides da Cunha. Finally, we present the works related to the Hinterland stage of class struggles and gender, and the imaginary point beyond the different outcomes of the works. The works in question address the memory, violence and tradition, elements which articulate geography, cinema and literature in the construction of geographical concepts. We therefore propose the use of film and literature, combined with the teaching of geography, from the use of different languages as a facilitator of teaching and support instrument to the student, aimed at building knowledge and improving the quality of education.
