Resumo:
The work purpose aim to discuss performance in circuses, specifically in the spectacle context, backstage and everyday life. The circuses I could follow have as their main characteristic their roaming, decentralizing a specific location. Three circuses were observed: American Circo, Real Circo and Circo do Palhaço Cheirozinho. The research that was carried out in these places is based on ethnographic principles, using participant observation tools, interviews and visual resources (photos and videos). When observing the daily circus, it was realized that all the logic is directed to the spectacles preparation that will be presented. For this the performers perform specific rites that demarcate the pre-exhibition frames, like: makeup, stretching, feeding etc. To complement the analysis, in the circus spectacles all the elements that make up the scene of the show (vendagens, songs, allegories etc.); an outstanding experience stands out, which emerges as much for the performers as for the audiences. Thus, in the ethnographic investigation it was noted how the performances performed in the presented shows bring renewal to the circus from the experiences shared in the circus environment.
