Resumo:
he animal traction cultivator is an instrument widely used by small farmers in the Northeast in the soil preparation and herb control operations. Crop sowing is usually manual, which makes it a time consuming and costly operation. As a low cost alternative, adaptations and a conventional five-hoe cultivator were developed for use in two-row seeding. The prototype was submitted to field tests in the implantation of the cotton and corn culture where it was evaluated its performance in the seed distribution, tractorial effort, operational capacity, economic performance and sliding. The prototype outperformed manual planting and animal traction seeder, demonstrating its technical and economic viability.
