Resumo:
T h i s paper d e a l s with the assembly of a mechanized harvester
for the s e e d s of "buffel grass" (capim-bufel) made up of an aspirator,
receptors, tubes and curves. T h e aspirator is a machine of medium
pressure, centrifugal type with straight radial impellers, of single
stage and with a single s i d e entry. T h r e e receptors w e r e tested, out
of which two were made of wood, the only difference between them
being in the inclination of the upper part. T h e third one w a s made
from PVC tube of 200 mm diameter. Tests were conducted to
determine suction efficiency of the receptors over the whole length
for the rotational s p e e d s of 1200. 1300. 1400, and 1500 rpm. T he
second and third receptors provided better results compared with the
first. T h e third one of P V C w a s found to be ideal for the system
considering that it presented better suction power than the second
one, and it has a convenient s h a p e with low weight. T h e s e qualities
make its utilization in the frontal part of a tractor technically viable.
T h e system presents a return of about R$ 641.92 per day of harvest,
making it a source of income for the rural producer.
