Resumo:
Adherence to the use of drugs is widely discussed in the literature, having
multiple strands and different methodologies. This wide range of publications entails
difficulties in identifying methodologies and more accurate information about the theme.
The aim of the study was to conduct a systematic review of medication adherence in
Brazil. Searched in the electronic portal LILACS descriptors "adherence" and
"medicine", and 67 selected articles. 17 were excluded because they fit the following
criteria: review articles / debate, theses, dissertations, and articles in a foreign language.
Predominance of publications from regions in southern / southeastern Brazil and the
growing number of publications over the years, especially from 2009. Pathologies
addressed, there is hypertension (24%), treatment of patients with HIV (24%),
tuberculosis patients (8%), bipolar disorder (6%), patients with asthma (4%) and
hypothyroidism (4%). The methodology used was the Test Moriky-Green; none of the
articles was considered "good" by the Jadad scale. Among the factors most frequently
associated with non-adherence stands out: complex dosage, collateral effects, poor
accessibility medicine and forgetfulness. Also highlighted the lack of understanding of
the severity of the disease and the need to use drugs, the prescriber attitudes, such as
language, time dedicate for consultation, welcoming service, respect for the
verbalizations and questioning of patients.
