A importância da educação de jovens e adultos, para os alunos do campo da Escola Municipal Constantino de Farias Castro: uma relação com a matemática (grandezas e medidas) e o seu cotidiano.

Abstract

This work aims to understand the importance of Youth and Adult Education - EJA teaching modality at Constantine de Farias Castro municipal schooland its impact on the students' lives from a rural area, as well as analyze its relationship with mathematics teaching and students' daily life, seeking to point out important aspects of the Youth and Adult Education contribution. In order to do so, a documentary and a field research having a qualitative approachwere conducted. For the field research, individual semi-structured interviews with five open and subjective questions were applied to 16 students from the Youth and Adult Education modality at the Constantino de Farias Castro municipal school. Then, data were submitted for characterization phase and the results were qualitatively analysed. Therefore, results showed the fundamental importance of EJA in the students' lives, since it has contributed for them in getting more knowledge and, with which, they have used to improve their daily experiences, offering them more opportunities to succeeded in completing their studies at the elementary and secondary levels.
