Résumé:
The word care originates from Latin cogitare-cogitate, imagine, think, reflect and it is defined as "zeal for the welfare or health", "apply the attention", "handle", "care for". It is believed that the knowledge about the care is very important in terms of the essence of the nursing profession, leading the professional becoming able to analyze the reality of each individual, that is, knowing the being in its entirety. This work aimed to meet the conceptions about caring from the tenth period Nursing academics and their professors at Universidade Federal de Campina Grande1 – Campus Cuité. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative perspective and 30 students and 8 professors took part of it answering to a semi-structured questionnaire which was on the subject of care. Data were analyzed through the technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin. The results of this research have shown that scholars and professors share a holistic conception of caring. The care is approached in All/ The most part of the subjects through lecture, course material, case studies, awareness, articles, magazines that professors lead to address caregiving in their disciplines. So, the undergraduate program gives total importance to care. However, the participants pointed to a number of limitations that the undergraduate program faces, and, in general, it makes it difficult to hinder directly on completion of care. It is also noticed that the students adopt a posture of professionalism in the face of affective illness and sick. The results were analyzed and discussed in the light of the theoretical and empirical studies.
