Resumen:
The audit is configured as an important tool in the transformation of work processes that have occurred in health institutions, which are seeking to reconcile the quality of care provided to the financial sustainability of the institution. This study aims to evaluate the quality of nursing care, utilizing the administrative audit as a tool in the process of care. This is an exploratory and descriptive qualitative approach using the semi-structured interviews to support, targeted to nurses in primary, secondary and tertiary municipality Cuité-PB-Brazil. During the research, it became apparent limitation of nurses in relation to the research topic, because the results confirm that the respondents have vague knowledge about the analyzed area. Thus, it is suggested that the audit be performed in conjunction with the service of Continuing Education in order to motivate and empower these professionals, which will be reflected in the improvement of care and services, giving priority to the quality of care and care and maintaining the correct cost control, in order to enable the financial performance of the institution.
