Résumé:
The study had as theme Practice of the Educator in the Teaching of Reading in
the School Context. The theme proposed in this study has as problematizing
question: how do teachers of the beginning grades are stimulating in the
students the taste for reading? This research has aimed to contribute with the
debate about the practice of teaching reading in elementary schools. As general
objective: investigate how the teachers are developing the practices in teaching
reading. As specific objectives: identify the conceptions of teachers regarding
reading; analyze the kinds of texts utilized by teachers for teaching reading;
verify the methodology proposed by the teachers in the classroom for teaching
reading. With the goal of understanding better the process of teaching reading
in the beginning grades of elementary school it has been opted for a research of
qualitative character. It is also a case study, since it analyzes a particular case.
It has been utilized as instruments of data collection the following items: the
observation and the interview. The observation is a widely used instrument,
especially because it may be associated to other procedures as, for example,
the interview. The participants of the research were 16 teachers of the
beginning grades of elementary school of the municipal and state schools from
Carrapateira, PB. The first chapter presents as title: Understanding reading as
an essential factor in the life of teachers and students. Thus, it will transmit the
importance and the necessity that the educator works increasingly with fitting
methodologies regarding reading. The second chapter brings the
methodologies used for the final result, and also which were the methods, the
objects and the subjects which were part of the research. At last, the third
chapter brings in its context the study of the data analysis which were carried
out from questionnaires with educators and yet with the observation so that we
obtained answers for the doubts and concerns about the theme.
