Resumo:
The paper entitled: The practice of reading in the school environment and their
contributions to the learning of students in the early years of elementary school
aimed to examine how the practice of reading in the school environment can
contribute to the learning of students in the early years of elementary school,
observing how teachers develop methodologically their reading practices in the
school environment, such as checking the methodologies used by educators, guiding
the students in their habits of reading and analyzing how the teacher/student
relationship interferes with the process of learning to read. We discussed concepts
about what reading is based on authors as: MARTINS (1994), Moura (2008) and
SOLE (1998), through a brief history of its evolution in society, based on some
methods that can be used by educators in their reading classes. The methodological
approach was made from the case study and divided between systematic
observation and questionnaire administered to students and educators. Was
analyzed the significance of inquiries made by comparing them with the reality
observed during classes, seeking to better understand the issues involved in the
process of learning to read. Before this it was concluded that two of the teachers in
their classrooms develop activities that students interact, trying to engage them with
the world of reading in a fun and appealing. But two of them also work with silent
reading and spare what, in my view, will not contribute to the students in order to
awaken the pleasure and reading for classes.
