Diagnóstico da destinação de efluentes na agroindústria do IFPB Campus Sousa – PB.

Abstract

The hydric scarcity in the world is a worrying factor for all nations. Responsible use of water and forms of reuse are themes that defy scientists worldwide. One of the elements widely studied in this area is the effluent. Hence, this work aimed to identify what type of effluent disposes in the Agroindustriy of IFPB/Sousa, to characterize the pathways and the process of disposing of these effluent, making a comparative with what advocates the legal norms in force. Qualitative and quantitative aspects were sought and a case study was chosen. Two variables were evaluated, namely: the characterization of the effluent and its disposal pathways and the comparison of the chemical parameters of the effluent with what advocates the current norms. The waste disposal system produced in the agro-industry does not contain a filter element, which allows a considerable amount of soil and organic matter to be considered in the residue collecting boxes. The effluent does not go through any type of treatment and is discarded in septic tank where the solids desings and then is used for fruit irrigation and seedling production on the campus. There is a risk of soil salinization and/or saline stress in most crops due to high concentrations of sodium chloride and sodium ions.
