Resumo:
The present work aims to analyze the relationship between geography and literature from
Graciliano Ramos's “Dry Lives” work, based on the possibilities for the teaching of
geography. To achieve this objective, we start from a discursive analysis about the
approaches of these two areas of knowledge, based on the bibliographic research that
involves the topic under discussion. From this perspective of discussion, we undertook
initially the presentation of some concepts that guide the organization of literature,
as a field of knowledge and the geographical dimension present in the work under discussion. THE

geographical representations found in the novel by briefly summarizing the chapters

in which the author was inserted, when the work was written. Considering the wealth
of geographical representations contained in the novel, we have established a set of
possibilities for the development of geography teaching in elementary school, taking into
reference to the presentation of a proposal for the development of a
teaching, presenting objectives, methodologies, procedures and evaluation focusing on the
relations between geography and literature.
