Resumo:
Environmental problems have become increasingly critical and frequent, mainly due to increased industrial activity that use a lot of water and dyes to color their products. These textile effluents that are introduced into a watercourse are examples of impurities that are characterized by a shade of color. Therefore, the present work aims to evaluate the efficiency of removal of methylene blue from effluent by means of adsorption on Algaroba activated carbon. The charcoal preparation and activation was performed, and the adsorbent characterization was then obtained, using analyzes such as SEM, XRD and FTIR and the determination of the equilibrium time. Finally, the influence of temperature and pH was verified and the pHPCZ was analyzed. The highest dye removal rate occurred in the first 10 minutes. It was concluded that the adsorbent charcoal of Algaroba was efficient in removing the methylene blue dye, presenting good adsorption capacity.
