Abstract:
Health education is critical for nursing practice, it is essential that there is recovery of the dimension in the context of the nurse educator to child care representing the comprehensive care of this challenge. Thus, the attitudes of care not only concerns technology and knowledge limited to the disease process, widens the perspective of a dynamic building links and accountability. Thus, there is a need to understand how the nurses of the Family Health Strategy in the municipality of Cuité-PB, develop their actions in health education in promoting the health of children. Thus we have guiding question how nurses ESF uses the tool of health education for the promotion of child health during the consultation childcare? What methodological approaches compose your educational practice? Such methodologies meet the conditions for promoting the health of children, as recommended by the National Health System? Thus, the study aims to identify how does the educational practice of nurses during routine visits, identificarvas methodologies that nurses use in their educational practice in promoting Child Health and verify the adequacy of educational practices performed by nurses Strategy Family Health at the SUS. We used a qualitative approach to exploratory and descriptive, which has the theoretical and methodological Theory Practical Intervention in Community Health Nursing. For the analysis and interpretation of the empirical material was chosen methodological approach of her speech Fiorin (1998). Data were collected between August and September 2013, through semi-structured interviews with four nurses who work in the city of FHS Cuité - Paraíba. From the research it was possible to get up to three empirical categories : 1) Contradiction between theory and practice : nursing consultation focusing on the biomedical model in attention to health of children in the ESF; 2) Contradiction between theory and practice : health education understood as the transmission of information/guidance and 3) Contradiction between theory and practice: the use of the methodology of imparting knowledge in educational practice of nurses in health care for the child in the ESF. It was felt that the educational practice of nurses in the FHS Cuité presents contradiction between what is and what ought to be, according to the assumptions of the SUS, as regards the role of primary care and the profile of its practitioners. We conclude that the need for more effective actions and discussions on the subject in the screen, serving as a reflection on the educational practice of nurses in the FHS, with the intention of enabling self-criticism regarding their methods and understanding of the importance of education in health carries within primary care.
