Resumen:
The jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) and the mast (Chenopodium ambrosioides) are two important plants explored in northeastern Brazil, especially in Paraíba and Pernambuco. The first for the commercial and nutritional value of its fruits and the second for for use in folk medicine. If these plants are to be used for the production of plant extracts to be used for pest control. stored grain, as they do not pose any risk to the environment or humans and a further alternative for its exploration, the objective of the present work was to produce and evaluate the bioactivity of hydroalcoholic extracts of these species in the control of adult Zabrotes suhfasciatus, isolated and inoculated into a seed mass stored for Phaseolus beans for a period of 120 days, where: attractiveness / repellency, mortality, infestation, weight loss and germination. We repellency studies the extracts were supplied in crushed bean baits; at adult mortality by nebulization and seed mass
stored by treating it directly by mixing it with the extracts. The experiments were conducted at the Storage and Processing Laboratory of Agricultural Products and the Federal Institute of Pernambuco, Belo Jardim campus, in completely randomized design with the factors arranged in a factorial scheme Based on the results it was concluded that the hydroalcoholic extracts of the Artocarpus heterophyllus and Chenopodium ambrosioides shoots were efficient in controlling the adults of Zabrotes suhfasciatus by killing them every present in seed mass, the percentage of infestation and weight loss, provoked by this insect, was reduced as the dose of the extracts increased, 6 and 10 mL doses were the most controlled; the bioactivity of extracts showed no inhibitory toxicity activity of seed germination of the Phaseolus beans throughout 120 days of storage, it is also concluded that It is important to consider the possibility of isolation of substances that have been
detected in the phytochemical tests. This process is relevant because of the interest of the industry for these substances for the production of grain defense products stored.
